Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David J. Epstein

February 23, 2020

There’s hope for the passionate generalist.

My least favorite part about this book is that it ended.

Reading this wasn’t just entertaining and interesting, it actually gave me hope where usually I feel like the world’s waiting impatiently for me to specialize. Epstein thoroughly explores how people learn and apply themselves with a mixture of research and (non-fictional) storytelling.

There can be immense value learning across different domains, and breadth of experience can be the critical factor solving new kinds of problems and making predictions.

I loved this book.
