Gods of Risk by James S. A. Corey

Brief coming-of-age interlude between books.

This was a quick hit of The Expanse that lacked the structure or zig-zagging plot of the first two books I just finished. It offered a glimpse of life—or a certain kind of life—on Mars in this universe, but I felt like I got to know a few characters so they could quickly act out an unremarkable story I’ve seen a dozen times.

Like some Breaking Bad vapors swirled over to The Expanse and something brief and only slightly interesting happened.

To be fair, I was probably expecting way too much from this short story comparing it to the book I just finished.
